STUDENTS4COOPERATION - High school competition: application deadline October 6th!

Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme and the European Commission’s DG REGIO are pleased to announce the launch of the STUDENTS4COOPERATION - Interreg high school competition. The competitions is open to high schools within the Italy-Slovenia Programme area and it aims to actively engage young people in European cooperation through an educational and fun activity, while highlighting the significance of their contributions to the development of their local communities.

High schools in the Programme area can participate in the competition by forming teams of six students from the last two classes. Students will be asked to propose their own cross-border cooperation project in written form choosing between one of the themes proposed. Each school can enrol a maximum of two teams per curricula; each team shall be guided by a professor.

The project ideas will be assessed by a jury composed of three staff members of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme and the European Commission. The team of students that presents the most outstanding project idea will be rewarded with a study visit to Brussels (April or May 2025), and it will also have the opportunity to present the students’ work at the Interreg Go! event on March 28th, 2025 in Gorizia in front of an international audience of officials from the European Commission and other Interreg programmes in Europe. The competition is organized as a side initiative to the Interreg GO! event scheduled for March 2025 in the twin cities of Nova Gorica-Gorizia, the 2025 European Capital of Culture. The winning project idea will also have the possibility to become the basis for a future Interreg project.

The second and third-placed teams will be awarded a one day trip to the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme area, organized and funded by the project Kohezija za vse: Brez meja/Senza confini. The project is organized by the Association for culture and education PiNA and funded by DG REGIO of the European Commission under the call Information Measures for the EU Cohesion policy.

The application deadline is October 6th, 2024 at 23:59 CET. Interested students and professors need to fill in the application form given below and send it by email to info.itaslo@regione.fvg.it. In the subject of the e-mail please write »Students4Cooperation«.
